To reset the Toyota Highlander power window, turn the ignition to the “on” position, press the switch to lower the window completely and hold the button for 2-5 seconds. Release, and pull up the switch to close the window completely. Again, hold the button for a further 2-5 seconds and release.

You can reset a Toyota Highlander liftgate by pressing the liftgate button and opening the trunk. Press and hold the liftgate button and hold for a few seconds. You will hear four beeps, a pause, and two more beeps. Close the liftgate and open it again. The liftgate is now reset.

If yes, the door actuator in your Highlander’s driver door lock might be defective. When defective, the power door actuator won’t respond to commands from the door switch or the key fob to lock the door. However, sometimes the problem might emanate from the wire connections leading to the actuator.

When the volume control knob no longer works as expected, it is sometimes necessary to clean things out properly. Remove the knob and use some electric contact cleaner to spray in the shaft. Replace the knob and rotate it back and forth to correct the problem.

Resetting the security system on a Toyota Highlander requires that you insert your ignition key and turn it to the run position. Return the key to the off position immediately and repeat the process 5 times. You can then start the car with the system disabled.
